Philosophy

Wee Wellington Playschool is a child-centered, experiential school where respect for self, respect for others, and respect for the Earth are practiced daily. Special focus is given to Music, Story-Making, Dramatic play, Laughter, Creativity, and Cooperation. 

 

Wee Wellington Playschool maintains a low student/teacher ratio by choice to make it possible to meet the diverse needs of our children.  We believe children learn and thrive when provided with a nurturing environment that meets each child where they are and includes developmentally appropriate and activities.

Janet Lansbury, a student of Magda Gerber (founder of RIE) and author of, Elevating Childcare; A Guide to Respectful Parenting drives our way of thinking about our little ones.

 

We have a special focus on socialization: How to solve simple social problems like taking turns, learning empathy, cooperation and how to be a friend.
